Fedor Emelianenko – The Baddest Man on the Planet

There are some awesome moments from Fedor’s fights, including Randlemans suplex. I’m not master at editing though.. Intro music: Black Violin – Bonny and Clyde ‘03 Main theme & Download: www.youtube.com Though Fedor’s official professional record is 31-1, Emelianenko is considered undefeated. The only blemish on his record is a December 22, 2000 fight that was stopped after 17 seconds and declared a TKO in favor of his opponent, Tsuyoshi Kohsaka, due to a cut Emelianenko sustained in the opening seconds of the matchup in Osaka, Japan. Amongst those on Emelianenko’s list of impressive conquests are former PRIDE Heavyweight Champions Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira, Mark “The Hammer” Coleman, and Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic as well as former UFC Heavyweight Champions Kevin “The Monster” Randleman and Tim Sylvia, whom Emelianenko submitted with a rear naked choke only 36 seconds into their main event showdown at Affliction: “Banned” on July 19, 2008. Fedor signed a multi-fight contract with Strikeforce. Why didn’t he just sign with the UFC? Fedor’s interview: “I never met Dana White, never spoke to him on the phone, never exchanged e-mails. However, I did read a lot on the Internet about what he said in regard to me and Vadim. I also read e-mails that he sent to Vadim; all of his correspondence was very upsetting. The contract that we were presented with by the UFC was simply impossible, couldn’t be signed, I couldn’t leave. If I won, I had to fight eight times in two years. If I …

@Coolconnor71 Strength isn’t everything, if you knew anthing about mma you would know that.
September 4th, 2010 @ 10:39 am

@ragincaucasian319 UFC 119 is a perfect example… I mean Couture vs Toney on the main card??? That is gross. Why do we have to wait until the end of a stupid reality show until we see GSP vs Kos? I could care less about the inner workings of the TUF house! It’s like watching Keeping up with the Kardashians! i don’t give a shit how they feel, let’s see them fight!… or in the case of the Kardashians..let’s see them strip! X D

@ragincaucasian319 Yeah, having Rogers vs Overeem is hard to explain. Like I said before, I though that SF was trying to build hype for Fedor vs Overeem. It seemed to work after Overeem beat the crap out of Rogers, but Fedor’s loss must have thrown a HUGE wrench into their plans if that is the case. I don’t have a clue what the hell SF is going to do now. Honestly, I doubt Fedor will sign given the history with Dana, but I think he will fight for SF championship b4 it folds.

@ragincaucasian319 the card DID turn out better than expected. All fights were exciting and well worth the admission to wherever people watched the fight. I can’t argue there… but with the incredibly deep roster that UFC has.. they couldn’t have put top LHW’s on the card? Or some more HW? What about JDS vs Cain? Why have Cain wait on the sidelines when u could have him face a guy who has faced stiffer comp? At least Cain vs Gonz since Gonz seems to be the gatekeeper to a title shot! Tell me no

I didnt think the card was weak at all. There werent huge names but Lytle, Sotoropolis and Leben always put on a good show and Krystof/Bonnar always brawl. I didnt expect the prelims to be that good but they were crazy too
Everyone did want to see Fedor Overeem and it should have happened. Ive been saying how Rogers got the title shot after losing to Fedor
Maybe SF was trying to pad their pockets with one more Fedor win but id of done it right away seeing that Overeem is almost never healthy

Brock Lesnar: “It was disappointing. I hate to see a guy like that, Whether his legacy was more of a mystique than it was, he stood up and he was respectful and it was tough to see. It reminded me of my first fight against Frank when I got really anxious and fell right into the trap.
I feel bad for him.
I don’t think any less of him, We’re human beings and we all make mistakes and it’s whether or not we can get up and better ourselves. That’s what true champions are made of, I believe.”

@Deej1188 Your right. It just sucks that UFC is likely to end up as the only promotion we’ll have access to in the US. I miss the days of Pride where you had a UFC event one day, and then a Pride event the next weekend. Now, it’s hard to even catch a Dream event without scouring the internet! Yeah, the UFC has the deepest roster, but I still like watching guys in Bellator slug it out! UFC has enough guys to put 5 main event fights on every card!.. yet they milk us w/ 1 or 2 big names each time.

@Mario1057 *weak on paper… especially after wandy had to pull out
September 4th, 2010 @ 4:28 pm
@ragincaucasian319 It does seem like SF will fold now that Fedor lost. All the cards were on the table and Im sure that they planned on Fedor beating Werdum and then fighting Overeem. As good of a BJJ expert as Werdum is, EVERYONE wanted to see Fedor vs Overeem. i have no idea what SF is going to do now. It sucks, because I really enjoyed the last SF event(with the exception of the chick fights, I’ve never agreed with that). I have to admit that last UFC card looked weak, but it was fun. =)

@ragincaucasian319 i agree about mayhem and I also agree that Brock took a step up on the respect-o-meter with his comeback win over Carwin. It’s not even that Carwin is that good, it’s that Brock took a severe beating and pulled off an impressive submission victory. MUCH props to Brock for pulling that off. Like I told u once before, i need to see at least 5 more Brock fights before I consider him “great”. He is DEFINITELY working his way up although his stand up is downright pathetic.

Shields in the UFC will be awesome and id like to see them get Overeem as well. Getting Fedor would have to come at a discount now and the auroa of Fedor has fallen with the fans. No way Dana lets M1 copromote and leech off what hes built. Can you imagine Dana giving up 50% of those PPVs? Im glad Dana said no and he’ll bury SF by puting on shows whenever SF has an event.
I think Shields will raise his game up when he fights the bigger names. Mayhem is alright but hes only famous for his antics
September 4th, 2010 @ 6:27 pm
@Deej1188 Thats true about Brock getting the shot after beating Herring. I honestly believe that Dana White didnt see Couture beating Sylvia for the HW belt. He just wanted a fight. It was a weak and small division then and Dana was looking for someone to build on. I mean, Couture is a light heavy and had no business having that belt. Brock was given the belt fighting a guy a lot smaller than him. Brock is still pretty new but seems to be learning quickly and his physical tools are unreal.
September 4th, 2010 @ 6:39 pm
@ragincaucasian319 We all figured Strikeforce would fold sooner or later. Bad business is bad business. Shields should definitely get a shot at Silva. Heck, I’d love to see a Shields/Marquardt, Shields/Sonnen, or Shields/Okami fight. He fits well into the promotion. However, lets hope he turns up the excitement level. His fight w/ Mayhem Miller was a snoozefest.
September 4th, 2010 @ 6:47 pm
@ragincaucasian319 In cold hard cash, I bet the UFC offered more. But in terms of co-promotion with a company with which he is a part owner, that is a ton of back door cash.
It doesn’t make much sense at all. I just think Werdum was promised Fedor during the time when Overeem wasn’t fighting in the States and that had to be honored first. But it makes me scratch my head as much as Lesnar getting a title shot after beating Herring. If Herring won, would have have faced Couture for the title?
