@CarReview07 Agree, I have the silver r32, Ive never seen another one. I love how rare it is. The power is there when you need it and on the highway I get around 24mpg. I paid 23000
with the awd at launch there isn’t near the wheel spin as the gti leaves them in the dust… I found mine on carmax goodluck finding one…. There is the option to go without the nav saved me $2000

good review, guys. glad to see some people are fair and observant in their discussion of cars, rather than superficial and bombastic without telling you anything.

0-60 5.9 for the gti. this guy hasn,t done his homework. more like 7.0sec. for the gti and 5.9 for the R32.

rather than compare this to an sti or evo it should be compared to the plain wrx or ralliart. that would be a much closer more even comparison

Spend five thousand dollars in performance upgrades on this car and it will beat an EVO with 5 grand into it.

the GTI MKV will be my next car. sadly, in my country the R32 it’s taxed very hard due to the 3.2 V6.

Why compare it to the Lancer Evo and Impreza STI if you’re going to talk about changable stuff, like exhaust? or things that Evo and STI owners wouldn’t mind riping off or out, like the interior?

Nothing beats that ‘Turbo’ sound when it spools up … may be biased since I own a MKV , but GTI over the R32 for me

@beast2711 I own a MKV GTI and gotta say it is the nicest car i’ve ever driven. Go with the new GTI … the MKVI is even more refined than the MKV, plus you’ll get better mpg , . . the Turbo and intake sound definitely won me over. the turbo lag is very negligible, plus you’ll be saving 300 lbs. btw unlike the video, the turbo doesn’t ‘whine’ it is more of a ‘whoosh’ sound when it spools.

the R32 is awesome, just hope no EVO or STI wants to race ….LOL.

Terrific review. For me the difference is looks and rarity. I own a red MKV R32 and it turns heads and gets accolades everywhere I go. Plus, that melodious exhaust note. Downside: terrible mileage. But as they say, it puts a smile on my face every time I drive it. Bottom line: It’s a head turner and a collector – I think I’ll keep it.

awesome review – finally by someone who knows what to comment on and it seems to be from experience vs. others (which tend to sound like they have come from a newspaper review)

thanks – has helped me in my dilemma….

I own a 2007 GTI four door. Believe me, the turbo lag on these cars is nothing. I am very happy with this car…and it was reasonably priced.
